Sony has confirmed in a blog post that your PS4 games can be streamed on PS5 using remote play, which will be available on the console at launch.
This means that you can save storage space on your PS5 and choose to stream your games over the internet from your PS4 console, rather than have to install them on your PS5 whenever you want to play them. However, games being streamed using Remote Play will not make use of PS5’s Game Boost mode, granting additional resolution and improving things like frame rate, load times, and more.
This feature is a nice addition and allows players to play in the best way that suits them, especially if you have your PS5 in the sitting room, but your PS4 in another room, like a study. You will have to keep your PS4 around though to make use of this feature.
The PS5 releases on November 12, 2020, in the US and November 19, 2020, in the UK and EU.
