The executive producer behind Ubisoft San Francisco‘s upcoming XDefiant has revealed that mouse and keyboard support will be included in the game, although it might not make it in time for launch.
Mark Rubin was asked on Twitter if console versions of the upcoming title would support these features, to which he responded, “Yes. I don’t know if it will make it for launch but hopefully soon after if it doesn’t.”
Elsewhere, Rubin was quizzed on the possibility of a Battle Royale version of XDefiant making it out, and it doesn’t sound like it’s part of the game plan .
Just to be clear I don’t dislike BRs I just feel that a lesson can be learned from other games that try to do both and end up sacrificing the quality of both. We want to focus on our 6v6 arcade arena experience and not let people neglected cause we are trying to do too much.
XDefiant is currently in development for PS5, PS4, PC, Xbox Series X/S, and Xbox One, although a concrete release date has yet to be announced. However, Ubisoft has said that it will launch at some point in its FY23-24.
