Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 Update 1.003.001 Reduces Enemy Aggressiveness On Veteran, Adds Private Mode For Operations

Saber Interactive has released a new patch for Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 today, which introduces a new Private mode for Operations, as well as tweaking the game’s Veteran difficulty so that enemies are now less aggressive. The latter was one of the many areas that Saber confirmed they would be focussing on in future updates. New Features:

  • Added the Hub Sparring Arena for friendly PvP in Operations & Eternal War modes.
  • Ultrawide support for PC.
  • Private mode for Operations, allowing solo play with bots or with one friend.
  • Added “What’s New” and “Message of the Day” sections.
  • Option to reset custom color presets to default.

Gameplay and Balancing Tweaks:

  • Marking tool improvements: better responsiveness and removal of unnecessary objects.
  • Power Fist: increased damage for fully charged attacks.
  • Heavy Plasma: base ammo increased, blast radius enlarged, and overheat per shot reduced.
  • Med Stims now restore contested health.
  • Aux grenade launcher ammo now refillable only from Ammo Boxes, not infinite caches.

Campaign:

  • Reduced enemy aggressiveness on Veteran Difficulty.
  • Player’s health slightly reduced on Veteran Difficulty.
  • Bots now more effective: will help with focus-firing and objectives.
  • Fixed bots getting stuck and running out of ammo on certain weapons.

Operations Mode:

  • Adjusted spawn rules for Chaos enemies: reduced max spawn numbers for several enemy types.
  • Perfect parry now restores armor for killing minor enemies.
  • Base groundpound damage for Assault Class increased by 30%.
  • Armor boost drops from crates now less frequent.

PvP:

  • Improved player spawn system to reduce spawn killing.
  • Vanguard’s Grapnel Launcher now staggers and slows enemies instead of full stun.

AI:

  • Reduced ability to stunlock enemies with ranged attacks.
  • Accuracy of ranged enemies reduced when attacking from off-screen or in melee combat.
  • Adjustments to Zoanthrope, Termagant, and Rubric Marine attacks and health stats.

Customization:

  • Fixed color icon issues for several color presets.
  • Adjusted unlock requirements for certain Vanguard armor parts.
  • Added “Greaves Pattern” for more customizable leg armor.

Maps:

  • Fixed progression-blocking issues and minor collision bugs on several levels.
  • Tweaked environmental effects like dust storms and fire timings.

General Fixes:

  • Fixed loadout health restore bug during operations.
  • Improved Jump Pack Ability responsiveness.
  • Fixed several bugs affecting weapons, armor, and perks.
  • Fixed UI, animation, and localization issues.
