Naughty Dog has announced via the PlayStation Blog today that Uncharted 4 co-op will be made available in the game’s new Survival update, due out next month.
Uncharted 4 survival mode adds co-op and solo play
Survival mode features both cooperative and solo-based gameplay, and takes the form of wave-based mode where you and up to two extra buddies can duke it out with increasingly powerful enemies and tackle unique objectives. Expanding on its efforts from Uncharted 2 & 3, this latest incarnation of Survival sees Naughty Dog evolving the core gameplay and offering a new level of depth, challenge, and variety.
Players will find themselves going toe-to-toe with new enemy and boss types, as well as getting to grips with a brand new progression system and upgradable arsenal. Survival mode offers 50 waves across 10 different maps, with gamers battling foes such as Brutes, Snipers, Hunters, and more, all of which increase in aggression and skill as you progress. After you’ve beaten 10 waves, players must face off against a lethal boss character, including the new Pirate Warlords.
Survival is more than just capping bad guys though. Gamers must also complete various objectives to make it to wave 50, such as pinching treasures, defending a particular area, or eliminating specific enemies. Modifiers will also be thrown into the mix to keep you guessing, and you’ll earn in-game cash as you defeat enemies and complete objectives.
