Ubisoft has revealed during its Fall 2026 update on the Assassin’s Creed franchise that it hasn’t got any Assassin’s Creed remakes in active development, but didn’t rule out revisiting previous titles in the future.
The publisher released its first remake this year in the form of Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced, which launched for PS5, PC, and Xbox Series X/S in July. Ubisoft noted in its Fall 2026 update that it’s “super proud of what the Resynced team delivered and how well it was received.”
One thing we want to be transparent about today is that we currently have no other Assassin’s Creed remake actively in development. Our teams are already focused on the next chapter of Assassin’s Creed titles, including projects you haven’t heard about yet, featuring new settings and stories. But don’t mistake that for a closed door. Like many of you, we love the idea of revisiting our classic titles, and we’ll keep exploring opportunities to bring older titles back.
Back in April this year it was reported by Insider Gaming that another Assassin’s Creed remake is in development, with any future remakes entering production based on how well Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced performs. This follows a previous report from two years ago that claimed another remake was in the works with a release due before the end of the decade. Still, with Ubisoft’s above statement, it would seem that nothing is in the pipeline after all, although that doesn’t mean a new remake isn’t in the planning stages.
