The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt may be getting its own dedicated PS5 release in 2021, but if you want to run the game at 60 FPS on Sony’s new console right now, it’s possible. That is, if you’re playing CD Projekt RED‘s fantasy-RPG without any patches or updates.
Yep, The Witcher 3 is capable of running at a silky-smooth frame rate on the PS5 in its basic form, which means the original version of the game features an uncapped frame rate. Again, this is without any of the patches or updates -strictly vanilla, folks.
YouTuber GalacticGamer demonstrated a video of the game in action, although it’s worth remembering that The Witcher 3 benefited greatly from the various updates released since 2015. Still, it’s interesting to see in action regardless.

The Witcher 3 was released on PS4, PC and Xbox One in May 2019, and received a couple of expansion packs to boot. As mentioned, the critically acclaimed title will be coming to PS5 and Xbox Series X next year with numerous performance improvements.
