Sony has revealed that the newly-unveiled PS5 Slim will still allow players to expand the console’s storage, confirming to IGN that “there are no changes with the new model” in this respect.
As previously reported, the new-look PS5, which is available in the standard and digital-only models, will feature 1TB of internal storage, which is a greater amount than the original launch PS5 had under its hood. However, players will still be able to increase that storage limit if they need to, which given the size of games nowadays, is probably just as well.
The PS5 Slim will begin rolling out in November 2023 in the US in selected stores, and will follow in other regions in the coming months. The console is smaller and lighter than the original version of Sony’s flagship system, with the digital version also coming with the optional of connecting a Ultra HD Blu-ray Disc Drive, which is sold separately.
Sony has revealed that it will only sell the PS5 Slim once stock of the existing models are depleted.
