The Last of Us Part 2 allows you to upgrade weapons, like the previous game. But we have fully explained weapon parts in the game in this guide, telling you exactly how to upgrade weapons and be stronger in combat.
The Last of Us Part 2 Weapon Parts Explained – How To Upgrade Weapons
The Last of Us Part 2‘s weapon parts are roughly the same as they were in the first game. Weapon parts are scattered throughout the world in bundles ranging from one or two to upwards of 20 for Ellie to collect. You are then able to use those weapon parts on Workbenches scattered throughout the game (25 of them in total).
Upgrades for your weapons range from increased damage and stability to entirely new feature like a rangefinder and a scope, helping you out in long-range combat. Weapon Tool levels are gone from The Last of Us Part 2, which means that as long as you have the parts, you can upgrade your weapons. You don’t have to wait for increased damage, more stability, or a bigger clip. If you have 80 parts for the upgrade then you can get it when you reach the next workbench.
Workbenches are also far more common than in the first game, placed strategically throughout the levels so that you can use your parts just when you have enough. Although, depending on how you use them initially, you might have to wait a little while longer later into the game to upgrade a weapon.
The Last of Us Part 2 changes a ton about the mechanics and gameplay, but a lot does stay the same, be sure to stay tuned to PSU for more guides and info on how to collect everything there is to find in the game.
