The Last of Us deleted credit scene detailed, spoilers inside!

Neil Druckmann, the lead writer for The Last of Us, has confirmed that developer Naughty Dog originally conceived a post-credits sequence for the critically acclaimed horror title, set four years after the events of the game.

Speaking at the one-off live theatrical performance of the post-apocalyptic video game last night, Druckmann revealed that the ending would have taken place at Tommy’s settlement, with Joel having settled down with a woman named Esther.

"El lies acting fairly distant, probably conflicted about joels lie," said Druckmann, who added that, "the scene ends with her striking a note on the guitar.”

This obviously refers to the fact Joel had promised to teach the youngster how to play the guitar during the events of the main game.

The live event was used to celebrate the launch of The Last of Us: Remastered, a PlayStation 4-enhanced port of the game that includes 1080p visuals running at 60fps, plus all existing downloadable content and a few behind-the-scenes extras.
