The Elder Scrolls IV Oblivion Remastered Has Only Been Out A Few Days, But Bethesda Is Already Seeking Feedback For Possible Changes

Bethesda and Virtuos are already looking to garner feedback from fans about possible changes to the just-launched The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered.

The Discord server for Bethesda, which currently has around 200,000 members, has thrown up an ‘Oblivion Suggestions’ channel, where players can pop in and give their feedback on changes they would like to see made. May people have already started posting their suggestions, with improvements to performance, item scaling, and difficulty options among the most popular choices.

The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered is out now for PS5, PC, and Xbox Series X/S, and is an extensive overhaul of the original 2006 version of the fantasy-RPG. Utilising Unreal Engine 5, the remaster offers enhanced character models, environments, improved textures and lighting effects, as well as improvements to controls, the user interface, and level scaling.

Despite this, the core of the original game remains, so NPCs still engage in humorous conversations with each other, bugs and glitches remain in place, and even in the infamous ‘let me do another take’ dialogue remains in place for one of the characters. After all, the game would have to be remade from the ground-up if it were to receive a complete overhaul that removes the foundation of the original.

That’s not a criticism, and nor does it take away the sheer amount of work gone into this remaster. In fact, one of the designers who worked on Oblivion in 2006 said that it’s such an extensive overhaul that it could be called ‘Oblivion 2.0.’
