Switchblade, the arena-based, vehicle action game goes free to play on PlayStation 4 today after spending some time in beta. Switchblade is now available for free on the PlayStation Store.

What Exactly Is Switchblade?

The official website for Switchblade has a lot of information in its ‘About’ page. As mentioned above the game is an arena-based, 5v5, vehicle action MOBA. However, Lucid Games have put a lot of interesting twists on that MOBA formula. For example, you can choose two vehicles to use in a match, switching between them at any time. This can create some interesting combinations given the game’s five vehicle classes.

Armoured vehicles can soak up damage. Artillery vehicles fight from a distance. Fighters battle close up and strike quickly. Scouts are smaller and used to disrupt enemies. Finally, Tank vehicles are heavily armoured and good at backing up teammates. This variety can create a bunch of different team compositions for every match.

Lucid Games have partnered with Wushu Studios on Switchblade, as well as another currently unannounced title. That title has talent from MotorStorm and Driveclub behind it.
