The storytelling is superb and coupled with the excellent visuals, it makes 1000xRESIST a must buy indie game in the Steam summer sale.
Echo Point Nova
Imagine the perfect combination of Minecraft, Titanfall, and Tribes…well you have it in Echo Point Nova. This game was created by Greylock Studios, which is a one person outfit, making the game a wonderful achievement. Surprisingly, there is no real narrative to Echo Point Nova, it is a simple case of blasting through the levels and killing the bosses. However, because of that, the game is a real joy to play and taking on the mega vehicle bosses, which you must destroy from the inside, is a lot of fun. Echo Point Nova is also great as a multiplayer and you must get it in the Steam summer sale.
Balatro
When it comes to indie games, it does not get much better than winning at the Bafta Games Awards and that is exactly what happened for Balatro in 2025. Balatro is a pixelated card game created by LocalThunk and uses traditional card mechanics based on poker. The aim of the game is to make the best hand possible, earning chips when you play cards, with the goal of beating the target score. However, there are joker cards that have special abilities, planet cards that can upgrade hands, and tarot cards that can change your hand. As you move through the game, beating the target score, new decks of cards become available and Balatro is very addictive. Inscryption

Inscryption is a deck building game developed by Daniel Mullins Games and the game begins in a mysterious cabin. Kitten Burst is essentially a cat racing simulator made by Jam2go and focuses on cat races in cyberspace. There are three parts to the story and there are big endings to each section.
