2K Games has slapped a June 26 U.S. release date on Spec Ops: The Line, as well as confirming the game will show up internationally on June 29.
In addition, the publisher has confirmed a slew of in-game bonus content for those who pre-order the game from participating retailers.
The extra content, said to “enhance the multiplayer experience,” takes the form of the ‘FUBAR’ pack and features the following goodies:
-Twice the amount of experience points will be awarded during the first week of play, allowing gamers to expedite character ranking.
-AK-47 weapon will unlock at rank one.
-The “Officer Class” will unlock at rank one. This particular class includes several team-based advantage, including a damage reduction to teammates and increasing the effectiveness of other weapons.
"Spec Ops: The Line is 2K Games’ first foray into the military shooter genre," said 2K boss, Christoph Hartmann. "We’ve created a unique game that explores the dark realities of war and places players in difficult situations where the line between right and wrong becomes increasingly blurred as players fight to survive."
"We’re delighted to officially announce the first details about the multiplayer in Spec Ops: The Line," added 2K Games senior producer, Denby Grace. "In addition, people who pre-order the game are going to have an immediate advantage in the multiplayer mode."
