Sony has revealed that graffiti featured in Stellar Blade that references a racial slur will be removed in the game’s day-one update.
Stellar Blade features an in-game shop known as R Shop, and one instance you can find graffiti reading Hard placed in front of it, so when viewed together it forms a reference to racist language. This is seemingly the only instance where both images are found together. Sony says this was unintentional and plans to remove it in a patch.

Speaking in a statement to IGN, Sony commented that the image “should be removed for all users in the Day 1 update.”
The placement of two graphics near each other in Stellar Blade resulted in an unintentionally objectionable phrase. Shift Up had no intention of creating offensive artwork and will be replacing the graffiti for the Day 1 patch.
Stellar Blade is scheduled for release on April 26, 2024, and you can read our full review of the game here.
