Bethesda has announced how much space The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Special Edition will eat up on your PlayStation 4 ahead of the game’s release later this month.
Skyrim Special Edition PS4 file size confirmed for Europe and U.S.
Skyrim Special Edition will take up considerably more space on your PS4 in Europe, presumably due to the various languages that are required. As such, you will need to free up 33GB of space as opposed to just 20GB in North America.
Interestingly, the PS4 version of the critically acclaimed fantasy RPG takes up more space than the Xbox One version, which requires 17GB and 25GB for Europe and U.S., respectively.
Skyrim Special Edition is scheduled for release on PS4, PC, and Xbox One on October 28. The game is a fully remastered edition of the 2011 original, including improved textures, volumetric lighting, dynamic depth of field, and more, as well as including mod support for the first time on home consoles. In addition, all available downloadable content is included in the package.
Aside from the visual enhancements available for PS4 players, Bethesda has confirmed that Skyrim Special Edition will also support PS4 Pro at launch, allowing gamers to experience the game in 4K.
The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim was released in November 2011 for PS3, PC, and Xbox 360, and garnered overwhelmingly positive reviews from critics at the time. The game has sold over 20 million copies worldwide to date, and spawned three major expansions: Dawnguard, Hearthfire, and Dragonborn.
