Variety’s reporting that Screen Gems has scooped up the film rights to Capcom’s gothic hack ‘n slash ‘em up, Devil May Cry.
The studio has apparently tasked Kyle Ward to pen the script for Dante’s silver screen debut, with IMDB noting he’s also involved in the upcoming movie adaptation of Kane & Lynch.
The fact Screen Gems has gotten involved in the DMC film shouldn’t come as a surprise; after all, the company was previously responsible for bringing Resident Evil to the big screen back in 2002, with the series subsequently generating three sequels.
