Rumour — Horizon 3 Is Still A Ways Off, Guerrilla Games To Release Horizon Online As Its Next Project

Developer Guerrilla Games is looking to release its online Horizon title as its next major title, with the inevitable Horizon 3 still a long way off, according to Bloomber’s Jason Schreier.

Speaking on the recent Spawn Wave podcast, Schreier, who has been busy promoting his new book Play Nice recently, also touched on the state of Microsoft right now, which he claims is a complete mess, with plans changing by the year. Here’s what he had to say:

And their plan…I mean, Horizon Online is their next product, not the third single-player game, looks like. So, that one may be ways off.

Xbox is such a mess right now, I feel like their plan is changing every single year. Right now they’re talking about teasing handheld over and over again but who knows? A year ago, they were saying Indiana Jones was never coming to PlayStation so like, they change their minds every month. They’re just a disaster over there, it’s really sad.

Earlier this year Sony announced that it had reduced its global workforce by 8%, although Schreier said at the time that Horizon online was not among the games cancelled as a result of the cutbacks. As for Horizon 3, Guerrilla Games has not officially announced the project, but in April 2023 it was all but confirmed the game was in development in a statement issued following Angie Smets’ departure.

Speaking on the subject of Horizon, Sony has announced that a remaster of Horizon Zero Dawn is launching on October 31, 2024 for PS5 and PC.
