Sony’s upcoming PSVR 2 headset will reportedly be backwards compatible with PSVR games, according to verified ResetEra tipster, TheNexus.
This is despite previous reports that the new PSVR headset won’t play titles from Sony’s original virtual reality device. However, given that Sony is dishing out three PSVR games with the PS Plus November 2021 lineup, it would make sense that PSVR 2 is able to play legacy content.

Sony hasn’t announced a PSVR 2 release date yet, and we don’t actually know what the device looks like. However, the format holder has given us a look at the new controller, which will be utilising haptic feedback and adaptive triggers, much like the DualSense.
PSVR recently celebrated its 5th anniversary, having launched back in October 2016. The headset is fully compatible with PS5, allowing you play all your PSVR content on the new console.
