Assassin’s Creed Syndicate will be the first PlayStation 4 title to utilize stereoscopic 3D, according to a listing on the PlayStation Store.
This is the first instance we’ve heard of the upcoming stealth-action title being 3D compatible, although Ubisoft has yet to make a formal announcement on the matter.
3D was heavily trumpeted by Sony during the PS3 generation, and several major titles, such as Killzone 3 and Resistance 3, would make use of the technology. However, it didn’t take off quite as successfully as Sony may have liked, and in recent years the feature was barely acknowledged during the format holder’s various press events.
Assassin’s Creed Syndicate is due out on PS4, PC and Xbox One in October. The game takes place in London during the year 1869, and sees gamers playing as siblings Jacob and Evie Frye. Unlike previous instalments in the series, Syndicate will not feature any form of online component.
