Roblox Boss Suggests Concerned Parents Should Ban Their Kids From Using The Platform

The head of Roblox has suggested that parents concerned about their children using the platforms should ban them from using it, although stressed the company is still working hard to ensure its users are protected.

Speaking with the BBC, Dave Baszucki offered the following in regard to concerned parents: “My first message would be, if you’re not comfortable, don’t let your kids be on Roblox. That sounds a little counter-intuitive, but I would always trust parents to make their own decisions.”

We do in the company take the attitude that any bad, even one bad incident, is one too many. We watch for bullying, we watch for harassment, we filter all of those kinds of things, and I would say behind the scenes, the analysis goes on all the way to, if necessary, reaching out to law enforcement.

Roblox has come under fire in recent months as it has been accused of failing to do enough to protect children, with a report by Hindenburg Research stating that Roblox is “an X-rated pedophile hellscape, exposing children to grooming, pornography, violent content and extremely abusive speech.”

Furthermore, Bloomberg reported back in July last year that there were more than 13,000 incidents of child exploitation reported on Roblox the previous year, with one instance involving a predator being arrested for kidnapping a young girl he met on the platform. The individual was even active on Roblox on the same day he detained by authorities.
