Return To Silent Hill Film Unveils First Look At Pyramid Head

Return to Silent Hill is currently previewing at the Cannes Film Festival, and the first look at iconic creature Pyramid Head has been provided by Variety, offering a glimpse at Christophe Gans’ upcoming horror title.

Those who aren’t familiar with the series’ cinematic history, Gans has been involved in the franchise before, having helmed the original Silent Hill movie back in 2006. That film was bad loosely on the original entry in Konami’s psychological horror franchise, although it replaced the role of Harry Mason with a female lead, but retained the plot of the central character looking for their missing daughter.

Return to Silent Hill is unrelated to the original movie and its sequel, Silent Hill Revelation, and is based on Silent Hill 2. The film stars Jeremy Irvine as James Sunderland, who returns to the foggy town after receiving a letter from his beloved, Mary, after the breakdown of their relationship.

It’s not yet know if its follows the same setup as Silent Hill 2 in that Mary previously died from a mysterious illness before James receives the letter, but we’ll find out soon enough.

Meanwhile, Bloober Team is currently developing a full remake of Silent Hill 2 for PS5 and PC, although a release date hasn’t been announced yet.
