Resident Evil Vendetta is a new CG film starring Leon S. Kennedy

Marza Animation Planet has confirmed new details on the in-development Resident Evil CG film due for release in 2017.

The feature-length movie has been officially titled Resident Evil: Vendetta, and will star series veteran Leon S. Kennedy in a starring role. This will be Kennedy’s third CG appearance, having previously featured in Resident Evil: Degeneration and Resident Evil: Damnation.

In addition, Marza also revealed that it has partnered with Ducati, an Italian motorcycle manufacturer, for the "action-packed climax scenes" of Vendetta, which sees Kennedy hopping on the XDiavel motorcycle.

Vendetta will be directed by Takanori Tsujimoto and will feature a story penned by Makoto Fukami. Capcom’s Hiroyuki Kobayashi, who has served as a producer on the Resident Evil games for many years, will act as Executive Supervisor.

We first heard about a new Resident Evil CG film last year, where it was confirmed the movie would serve as a reboot and also include the characters of Chris Redfield and Rebecca Chambers.

Resident Evil celebrated its 20th anniversary this year, having first released in Japan on March 22, 1996. Capcom is working on a full-fledged remake of Resident Evil 2 and will release the PS4-exclusive Umbrella Corps, a squad-based online shooter, in May 2016.
