The long-rumoured Resident Evil CODE: Veronica Remake is being directed by Kazunori Kadoi and Yasuhiro Anpo, who are the same duo that directed Resident Evil 2 Remake.
That’s according to insider Dusk Golem, who has a long track record when it comes to outing various Resident Evil- related info over the years, and stated in 2024 that Resident Evil CODE: Veronica Remake and Resident Evil Zero Remake were both in the works. More recently, Golem claimed that CODE: Veronica Remake will be first out the door in 2027 followed by Zero in 2028.
Elsewhere, Golem also stated that as far as he’s aware, nothing has been cut from the CODE: Veronica Remake, with Capcom apparently having expanded the experience in comparison to the original version of the game. In particular, he noted that Chris now fights Wesker in a proper boss battle, as opposed to a cutscene.
Resident Evil CODE: Veronica was originally released for the Dreamcast in 2000, and was later ported to the PS2 with additional content for the series’ fifth anniversary. The game takes place a few months after the events of Resident Evil 2, and sees Claire Redfield kidnapped by Umbrella while searching Chris and imprisoned on Rockfort Island.
