Digital Foundry has subjected Resident Evil 7: biohazard to an intense technical analysis across PlayStation 4, PlayStation 4 Pro, PC, and Xbox One, concluding the acclaimed survival horror game runs notably better on Sony’s format in comparison to its lead rival.
Resident Evil 7 PS4 vs Xbox One
The pixel wizards discovered that, while the Xbox One version is certainly no slouch in the visual department, the PS4/PS4 versions have the edge in terms of frame rate at a solid 60fps; the Xbox One version has been noted to dip a few times to 45fps, particularly during combat situations.
In terms of resolution, the PS4 edition of Resi 7 clocks in at 1080p, while the PS4 version of the game ramps things up to 2240×1260. In addition, if you’re playing on Sony’s high-end system, you will be able to enjoy added visual benefits, such as increased lightning highlight on various objects within the environment, such as trees.
