Capcom has announced that Resident Evil 4 Remake has surpassed 10 million sales, and is the fastest title in the long-running franchise to reach the milestone.
Back in January the publisher revealed that the game had hit nine million sales, so the game is continuing to enjoy strong sales momentum even three years after its initial launch. Meanwhile, Resident Evil 2 Remake and Resident Evil 7 Biohazard have reached 15 million units sold, with Resident Evil Village and Resident Evil 3 Remake hitting 11 million and 10 million units, respectively.

Capcom remains firmly committed to satisfying the expectations of all stakeholders by leveraging its industry-leading game development capabilities in order to create highly entertaining gameplay experiences.
Resident Evil 4 Remake is a ground-up retelling of the original 2005 action horror masterpiece directed by Shinji Mikami. The game picks up some six years after Resident Evil 2 and its remake, and sees Leon S. Kennedy, now a government agent, dispatched by a remote European community to rescue President Graham’s kidnapped daughter. In addition to the main campaign, there’s also a Mercenaries mode available and the Separate Ways DLC, which follows Ada Wong’s mission that runs alongside Leon’s story.
Capcom will be celebrating 30 years of Resident Evil in March 2026, and is currently working on the next major entry in the series, Resident Evil 9, which we’ve yet to see anything on. Furthermore, it is heavily rumoured to be working on remakes of Resident Evil Zero and Resident Evil CODE: Veronica.
