Speaking during an interview with PC Gamer, Ubisoft Montréal Game Director Jean-Baptiste Halle has revealed that the team is working on Rainbow Six Siege Cross Play functionality.
From the sound of things this won’t be extended to the PC version, possibly due to the advantages of mouse and keyboard support.
We’re actively working on cross-progression and crossplay. Within the realm of consoles, I think it would be great if PlayStation and Xbox could play together. I can see the pros, but I can also see the cons. So, for this one, it’s too early for us to communicate.
Rainbow Six Siege was originally released for the PS4, PC and Xbox One in December 2015, and has been supported by Ubisoft with robust post-launch content ever since. The game was recently updated for PS5 and Xbox Series X/S in December 2020.
