Sony’s PS5 was the market leader for console sales in June 2024 for the UK, although hardware performance was down 9% year-on-year in a month that saw notably fewer major releases than the same period last year.
According to the latest GfK panel data, the PS5, Nintendo Switch, and Xbox Series X/S saw sales decline slightly for June 2024, although Sony’s console was ‘comfortably the market leader’ during this period. Microsoft’s console managed to overtake the Nintendo Switch for the month however, although both systems have been pretty much neck-and-neck all year.

PS5’s DualSense controller saw some big success on the accessory sale front, with the top four positions all comprised of different coloured version of the controller — Midnight Black, White, Cosmic Red, and Starlight Blue.
Meanwhile, it was confirmed in the latest Circana data that PS5 lead hardware sales in the US for May 2024, and is continuing to track ahead of the PS4.
