PS5 Pro Rumors Gather Pace As Sony Hires For API Graphics Engineer To Push ‘Multiple Generations’ Of PS5 Hardware

Sony Interactive Entertainment has posted up a job listing for a Senior Software Engineer to work on PS5’s rendering API, fuelling speculation that the hardware manufacturer is quietly working away on the rumored PS5 Pro.

The role will see the applicant contributing to the graphics API that powers PS5 games, scubas the GPU software stack optimisation tools that capable of powering next-generation console experiences including 4K resolution, ray-tracing and more. The job also mentions the successful applicant will help craft “the architecture of multiple generations of PlayStation consoles.”

This is a unique and senior position at the core of PlayStation GPU technology. Your colleagues in ATG will include the engineers developing the rendering and ray tracing libraries, GPU tools, shader compiler, and contributors to the architecture of multiple generations of PlayStation consoles.
