Sony has rolled out PS4 update 7.50 for users to download, which is available to grab at a modest 471MB.
PS4 Update 7.50 Patch Notes
PS4 update 7.50 follows a long line of stability-based updates for the seven-year-old console, although at this point in its lifecycle, there’s little incentive to unveil any new features. Still, it does implement a new HDMI standard that will apparently help with new technology.
Here’s the release notes from the PS4 console itself:
- This system software update improves system performance.
Sony still has a couple of heavy hitters under its belt for the PS4 this year, including Ghost of Tsushima and The Last of Us Part 2.
Beyond that however, the format holder’s main focus is obviously on the PS5, which is slated to appear on shelves this holiday season. Recently, it has been suggested that the system will not be delayed unless Microsoft opts to postpone the launch of the Xbox Series X.
