How to change PSN name – At last players are now will finally be able to change their PSN ID after years of fans clamouring for the feature. The PlayStation Blog highlighted how to change your PSN ID and the possible complications of doing so.
You can change your PSN ID from a PS4 or a web browser. You cannot change your ID on a PS3 or PS Vita. The instructions for how to do so can be found below:
How To Change PSN Name
PlayStation 4:
- Step 1: From your PS4 go to [Settings].
- Step 2: Select [Account Management] > [Account Information] > [Profile] > [Online ID].
- Step 3: Enter an Online ID of your choice or choose from one of the suggestions.
- Step 4: Follow the on-screen prompts to complete the change.
Web browser:
- Step 1: Sign in to your account on the PlayStation Network and select PSN Profile in the menu.
- Step 2: Select the Edit button that’s next to your Online ID.
- Step 3: Enter an Online ID of your choice or choose from one of the suggestions.
- Step 4: Follow the on-screen prompts to complete the change.
The first change of your PSN ID is free, with following alterations costing $9.99/£7.99 or $4.99/£3.99 for PlayStation Plus members.
You will also have the option to display your old ID next to your new one in your Profile for 30 days, ensuring that your friends know it is you. There are no restrictions on how often you can change your PSN ID. You can revert back to your previous PSN ID’s at any time for free.
