PS3 firmware update 4.41 coming tonight

Fresh off the Sony presses is news of another firmware update for its front running home console PlayStation 3.

The most recent update which took effect late last month, update 4.40, only improved system stability, and, unfortunately, firmware version 4.41 looks to include the same exact sort of fixes. Sony had this to say:

"PS3 software update v4.41 is coming today, it’s a minor update that will improve system stability."

We haven’t seen any major featured added to the PS3 in a fair while, but this could be expected since the PS3 won’t be the biggest console Sony will have on the market this year.

There is no certainty in regards to this update being mandatory or optional, but, once this update goes live, we here at PSU will have the scoop on if it’s required or  any unannounced possible enhancements or fixes that may come with firmware 4.41.
