Atlus has announced that the North American and European release date for Persona 5 has been pushed back two months.
Persona 5 release date suffers delay
Originally scheduled to appear on February 14 (Valentine’s Day), the hotly anticipated JRPG will now ship in the U.S. and Europe on April 4, 2017. However, the delay does mean that gamers will get something a little extra when Persona 5 finally does ship in the west.
"Persona 5 will have dual audio for both PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4," said Atlus. "We’re including it as DLC for logistical reasons, but it will be free, for forever. People have been asking for this since P5 was announced, and through a herculean effort from Atlus, we’re going to be able to deliver it. We’ll have more details on the specifics later, but dual audio will be available for the game at launch."
Be sure to check out the new Persona 5 trailer if you haven’t already, which takes a gander at various game mechanics for the sequel.
Set in Tokyo, Japan, Persona 5 follows a student who is transferred to the fictional Shujin High School after being put on probation for attacking a stalker. Over the course of the year, the silent protagonist and his fellow classmates discover their ‘Persona’ powers and adopt new identities as members of the masked vigilante group, the Phantom Thieves of Hearts. As with previous instalments in the series, the group will battle against supernatural enemies as they explore a mysterious realm known as the Palace.
Persona 5 was originally released in Japan on September 15, 2016.
