People Can Fly, the creators of Bulletstorm VR and Outriders, has announced plans to phase out its VR publishing efforts, confirming that Project Bifrost will be the final VR game to be published by the company.
Speaking in a statement published March 6, 2025, People Can Fly offered the following in regards to its decision to wind down VR operations:
At the same time, the Management Boar of the Company conducted an analysis of the current activities of the Company’s capital group in the segment of games designed for virtual reality (VR) platforms, the prospects for further development within this segment, taking into account the current situation of the Group and the change in the market situation consisting in a significant reduction in investments in the production of new VR games by VR hardware platform holders, which negatively affects the assessment of the future commercial potential of this segment, based on which 6 March 2025 it decided to phase out the Company’s VR game publishing activities.

People Can Fly announced in April 2024 that it had discontinued development of a new action-adventure IP down as Project Dagger, which was due to be published by Take-Two. Later that year, the studio announced that it had laid off over 120 workers, and that Project Bifrost would be scaled down as it looked to suspended its efforts on self-published titles.
