Ori and The Blind Forest is one of the best Metroidvanias on current generation consoles. However, for the last four years, it has only been available on Xbox One and PC. This has led to questions about whether an Ori and The Blind Forest PS4 version is going to happen. Well, we are going to answer just that below.

Ori And The Blind Forest PS4 Version

A bit of backstory to the development of the game is needed before we can discuss an Ori and The Blind Forest PS4 version.

The game is developed by Moon Studios who are an independent development studio based around the world, with developers from a variety of countries. Microsoft doesn’t own the IP or Moon Studios; however, Microsoft does own the distribution rights to the franchise.

Unfortunately, this means that as long as Microsoft owns those distribution rights to the franchise, an Ori and The Blind Forest PS4 version is not going to happen.

Although, there will soon be a way for PS4 players to play the game from any device in their homes. Microsoft is launching their streaming service, Project XCloud later this year, which will allow anyone to stream Ori and The Blind Forest to their PC, laptop, or mobile device. Therefore, PS4 players will be able to finally play the game.

An Ori and The Blind Forest PS4 version would be a welcome addition to the platform as the game plays really well and looks stunning. Either way, streaming it through Project XCloud is almost as good and is an acceptable compromise.

If we hear anymore about an Ori and The Blind Forest PS4 release or a PS4 release for its upcoming sequel, we will update this article with the new information.
