New Street Fighter 6 Update Adds Mai Support, Bug Fixes For Drive Impact & Drive Reversal

Capcom has lifted the wraps off a new Street Fighter 6 update today, which brings support for its latest DLC character, Mai, as well as a number of key bug fixes. Chief among these includes ironing out an issue with the Drive Impact and Drive Reversal, as well as adjusting the Perfect Parry mechanic. Street Fighter 6 is the latest entry in Capcom’s long-running fighting game franchise, and was released for PS5, PS4, PC, Xbox Series X/S, and Xbox One in June 2023. The game has received multiple post-launch characters to date including Akuma, Elena, M. Bison, and Terry, and also includes the brand new World Tour Mode, which acts as a single-player story mode where you control a customisable character while exploring a vast city.   • Universal Changes:
    • Character Guides & Tutorials (Bug Fix):
      • Fixed issues with replays not playing properly and inaccuracies in text due to earlier battle adjustment updates.
    • Drive Impact (Bug Fix):
      • Resolved an issue causing a shorter than normal input buffer time when an attack did not hit after absorbing a blow with super armor.
    • Drive Reversal (From Block/Recovery) (Bug Fix):
      • Removed the backward movement parameters of the first frame to align with how this technique performs for other characters.
      • Impacted Characters: Kimberly, Blanka
  • Perfect Parry (Adjustment):
    • Adjusted the mechanic so that if a multi-hit attack is Perfect Parried, it is no longer possible to cancel from the 2nd attack onward.
    • Note: This fix was initially implemented in the December 2, 2024 update, rolled back due to a known issue, and is now re-implemented after resolving that issue.
