The next PlayStation 3 system software update (v.2.76) is coming soon. Eric Lempel, director of PlayStation Network Operations, announced the update on the PlayStation Blog.
The minor update will improve the playback quality of some PS3 format software, although no details were released about what games are affected. It looks like you’ll have to wait for cross-game voice chat and enjoy text chat in the meantime. We’ll give you more information about the update as it becomes available.
