Monster Hunter World is the latest instalment in Capcom’s multi-million selling franchise, which started out life on the PlayStation 2 back in the mid-2000s.

Powered by MT Framework, Monster Hunter World is currently in development for the PS4, PC, and Xbox One platforms. In comparison to previous entries, the game will feature larger environments and offer seamless transition between areas.

In addition, the latest Monster Hunter game will feature four-player online co-op play, and allow gamers from all over the world to team up.

Capcom has confirmed that the game will feature all fourteen weapon types present in Monster Hunter 4 and Monster Hunter Generations, and includes a dynamic weather system and day/night cycle.

Monster Hunter World will also feature post-launch content that will deliver new quests, much like those that were featured in the handheld titles. Capcom also revealed that DLC will be made available for free.

The title will also include PS4-exclusive content, such as the ability to play as Aloy from Horizon Zero Dawn. In addition, a demo will be made available to PlayStation Plus members on December 9.

Monster Hunter World is scheduled for release on January 26, 2018.
