The PS3 is set to lose support for the Netflix app early next month, the streaming giant has confirmed in a notification to users this week.
“Unfortunately, Netflix will no longer be available on this device after March 2, 2026. Visit netflix.com/supporteddevices to see a list of supported devices,” the message reads.
To be honest it’s not too surprising to see this happen, seeing as how the PS3 turns 20 years old in November this year (I still have trouble accepting that fact!), and it still had Netflix support long after it was dropped from the likes of the Wii, Wii U, and 3DS.
Netflix is of course still supported for PS4 and PS5, so if you’re still using your PlayStation hardware as a major streaming device, then you’re covered for the foreseeable future.
While we’re on the subject of the PS3, Sony has been slowly adding games from the console to its PS Plus Premium lineup, although unlike other back catalogue titles you can only stream PS3 games, not download them. For a full list of the available PS Plus Premium games, see our guide here.
