Konami has revealed that hack-‘n-slash adventure Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance is now a PlayStation 3-exclusive release in Japan.
The publisher confirmed today that the Xbox 360 release has been cancelled in the Land of the Rising Sun, though made it clear the game is still on track for a multiplatform release in the west.
Metal Gear Rising was developed on PS3 as a lead platform at Platinum Games, who previously attracted much criticism for their handling of the PS3 port of Bayonetta. The company’s next effort, Vanquish, fared much better however.
Due out in February 2013, Metal Gear Rising is set after the events of Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots, and sees ninja Raiden slicing his way through cyborg foes in his attempts to rebuild an unknown country.
