Your Mass Effect Andromeda romance options are plentiful, so check them all out in our guide to love, sex and friendship.
Like its acclaimed predecessors, one of the key components in Mass Effect Andromeda is character relationships; specifically, romancing and ultimately consummating your relationship with one of the many individuals (both male and female, and not necessarily human either) that you’ll encounter in your galaxy-wide adventure. BioWare has already championed Mass Effect Andromeda’s sex scenes as something pretty special, and has made claims that the relationship aspect of the sci-fi RPG is the biggest in the franchise to date. In fact, we’ve already got a taste for what you can expect from our earlier article, so you probably have a good idea of what you’re going to be aiming for come launch day.
Now though, having completed the game ourselves (be sure to read our Mass Effect Andromeda review if you haven’t already done so), we’re able to present a detailed guide on just how to woo each character with romance opportunities, regardless of the gender you are playing as. It’s not as simple as merely picking the right choices though; some characters won’t give you a second look unless you complete a specific task, while others will only budge if you play your cards right on the dialogue wheel. Relationships are complicated, and Andromeda is no different.

Mass Effect Andromeda romance options: Scott Ryder & Cora Harper
Providing you stay on Cora’s good side and don’t upset her, you should be able to find pursuing a relationship with her pretty straight forward. After meeting her following your travels to Planet EOS, head to her room and make sure you open up your emotional side when engaging in conversations. You’ll want to select the dialogue option ‘We’ll be good together’ when it’s presented. Keep on her good side by paying her compliments, and quiz her about her history in the military and complete her loyalty mission to secure your best chances.
Scott/Sara Ryder & PeeBee
PeeBee is a bit of a handful, although she’s a playful type who is a fun character to pursue a relationship with. If you fancy your chances, make sure you don’t get on her bad side from the get-go; don’t push her off you when she jumps you when you first meet, or you’ll end up blocking a lot of romantic options down the line. Also, make sure when presented with the choice, pick the option ‘So we follow the thread’ or you’ll risk offending her. Note that PeeBee is bisexual, so this info can apply to those of you playing as Sara Ryder too.
Scott/Sara Ryder & Vetra Nyx
The female Turian is a highly family-oriented crew member, but she’s not against settling down either. Available to both the male and female Ryder, Vetra can be flirted with after completing main missions, and it’s recommended you approach her in the marketplace after getting to Aya. You’ll also want to tackle her Loyalty mission, and after doing so make sure you make it clear you’re interested and she’ll suggest meeting up on Kadara. Providing she is in your squad, you’ll be able to take things further once you reach the waypoint.
Scott Ryder & Gil
Gil does not need much in the way of convincing, so a bit of flirting when you first meet on the Tempest is all that’s require to pique his interest. Make sure you keep up the chatter after landing on Aya and following major story missions, plus it won;’t hurt to play a bit of poker with him too. You’ll know you are on to something when he emails requesting that you meet up on Eos.
Scott/Sara Ryder & Keri
The Asari journalist will persist in asking you for an interview, but fortunately you won’t need to act professional as you can use the opportunity to flirt with Keri. If you want to pursue a relationship with her, then make sure you show up for every interview as stye become available after each main mission. Keep in mind that you’ll need to check your emails and read anything from Keri; she won’t be too bothered by what else you’re up to, so presumably it’s not an exclusive relationship.
Scott Ryder & Avela
You’ll first encounter Avela on Aya’s docks, so make sure you go over and talk to her right away. Later, you will find her in a museum, so get to work on your relationship by tackling the mission ‘Recovering the Past’ on Havarl, which will open up more opportunities to spark the flame between the both of you.
Scott/Sara Ryder & Reyes Vidal
Available to both Ryder siblings, Reyes is found on Kadara and you’ll be able to fire up a romance from your meeting point. After completing the primary mission with him, make sure you scan the corpse at Kadara’s port and then travel to the slums on Kadara to chew the fat about the murder. This will give you the best chance to kick start your romantic endeavours.
Sara Ryder & Liam
Kick things off by introducing yourself on board the Tempest, which will open up the chance to engage in some harmless flirting. Next, give Liam a helping hand with his movie night, and then spend some time with him when he’s on the Nexus and at Aya. Finally, seal the deal by completing his loyalty mission by establishing outposts.
Sara Ryder & Jaal
Jaal is probably one of the easiest individuals to pursue a relationship with; he’s quite chatty, and therefore gives you plenty of opportunities to flirt and get to know him. Keep chatting with him and then you’ll notice that you conversations will change in tone, however, and you can take the next step after completing his loyalty mission and receiving an email.
Sara Ryder & Suvi
Suvi will cross paths with Sara Ryder numerous times, as you’ll see her when you visit the galaxy map. To pursue a romantic path with her, simply chat to her and keep flirting when given the opportunity. Once you have done enough, Suvi will invite you to take a break, which will then lead to a new scene in Ryder’s quarters. From here, you can nab the chance to take things further.
