Insomniac Games recently polished off a fresh batch of screenshots for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2‘s sumptuously-realised New York City location, but there’s one landmark that won’t be depicted in the game: the Chrysler Building.
While this iconic building was seen in 2018’s Marvel’s Spider-Man, Insomniac Games revealed during a chat with the New York Times that, like Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales, the building won’t be included in the sequel due to copyright issues. Still, when you consider how much bigger New York will be in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 (new boroughs are being added, including the addition of Queens where you’ll be able to visit Aunt May’s house), the absence of the Chrysler Building isn’t too bad.
Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is scheduled for release on October 20, 2023 exclusively for the PS5. Insomniac Games has been teasing a number of the game’s main villains on Twitter, including the Lizard and Kraven the Hunter, as well as a new look at heroes Peter Parker and Miles Morales.
