The PC version of web-slinging sequel Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 has been updated by Insomniac Games, which comes with a number of improvements to stability as well as Frame Generation and upscaling. One of the key fixes is the removal of a distortion issue for AMD FSR Frame Generation with upscaling, as well as ironing out a ghosting bug when NVIDIA DLSS Frame Generation and upscaling are enabled. Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 was originally released for PS5 in October 2023, and sees Peter Parker and Miles Morales teaming up against a number of supervillains including Venom and Kraven the Hunter. Players have the chance to freely switch between both Spider-Men during free roaming segments, with New York City expanded to include more districts that are packed with new collectibles and side quests. - Frame Generation and Upscaling Fixes:
- Resolved a distortion issue when using AMD FSR Frame Generation with upscaling.
- Fixed ghosting issues when NVIDIA DLSS Frame Generation and upscaling were enabled, preventing parts of the player suit from becoming invisible.
- Updated Intel XeSS upscaling to version 2.0.1 to fix bright visual artifacts.
- Mission and Gameplay Fixes:
- Fixed an issue causing mission trails to appear as a white tube for some players.
- Resolved a bug where Harry could appear twice when assisting in combat during Anything Can Be Broken.
- Prevented players from getting stuck in the New Threads mission when crawling on pipes at high frame rates.
- Addressed an issue where some players were unable to receive calls after missions, which previously blocked progress.
- The ground will now properly shatter after performing a Ground Strike.
- Visual and Audio Enhancements:
- Fixed a dotted line appearing on screen during certain cinematics when upscaling was used.
- Resolved an issue where audio would desynchronize if the application focus was changed while a cutscene was loading.
- Improved NVIDIA DLSS Ray Reconstruction, refining ray-traced ambient occlusion and shadows.
- Stability Improvements:
- Various fixes to enhance overall game stability.
