LittleBigPlanet PS4 hinted at in new ‘LBP’ trademark

Sony has filed two ‘LBP’ trademarks in the U.K., offering its biggest hint yet that DIY platform franchise LittleBigPlanet is set for a major return at some point, possibly for PlayStation 4.

The filings were spotted by DualShockers, noting they were filed back in October 2013.

LittleBigPlanet celebrated its fifth anniversary last November, and has churned out a number of successful iterations since: LittleBigPlanet (PSP, 2009), LittleBigPlanet 2 (PS3, 2011), LittleBigPlanet PS Vita (Vita, 2012) and LittleBigPlant Karting (PS3, 2012).

Rumors have surfaced in recent months that U.K.-based developer Sumo Digital will be taking the reins on LittleBigPlanet 3, following creator Media Molecule’s decision to jump ship to pastures anew.

Would you like to see SackBoy and chums resurface in LBP3? Or perhaps you’d like to see Sony take the series in another direction entirely? Let us know in the comments section below.
