Lars Wingefors, CEO of Embracer Group, has revealed during the company’s latest earnings call that preorders for Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver 1 & 2 Remastered are tracking well ahead of expectations.
The upcoming collection remasters PSOne classics Blood Omen: Legacy of Kain and Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver for PS5 and PS4, bringing enhanced visuals and a wealth of other improvements to spruce the games up for modern platforms. Evidently, people are eager to get their hands on the collection, as Wingefors notes in the following statement regarding preorders:
For the Legacy of Kain, Soul Reaver 1 and 2 Remastered, coming ready in December, that is performing on pre-ordering basis much stronger than expectations so far.

Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver 1 & 2 Remastered was announced during Sony’s September 2024 State of Play broadcast, having been rumoured for some time prior to the official reveal. The remasters are being handled by Aspyr Media, who of course are no stranger to tinkering with classic titles; they brought us this year’s Tomb Raider I-III Remastered Starring Lara Croft, and are currently working on Tomb Raider IV-VI Remastered.
Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver 1 & 2 Remastered is due out on PS5, PS4, PC, Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series X/S, and Xbox One on December 10, 2024.
