Killzone Series Composer Feels A Remastered Trilogy Would Prove Successful, But Isn’t Sure About A New Killzone

Joris de Man, the composer behind Killzone, has revealed during an interview with VideoGamer that a remastered trilogy would likely prove successful, but wasn’t sure if people have moved on to appreciate a brand new Killzone game.

I know that there have been petitions for it. I think it’s risky because, I can’t speak for Guirella or anything… I don’t know if it will ever happen. I hope it will because I think it is quite an iconic franchise, but also I think it kind of has to take into account kind of the sensitivities and the shift in, I guess, what people want because it is quite bleak in some ways.

I think it remastered one would be successful. I don’t know if a new game would be as much. I don’t know if people have moved on from it and want something—I don’t know, sometimes I get the sense that people want something a bit more casual, a bit more quick.

The Killzone franchise started out life on the PS2 with the original game and saw Killzone 2 and Killzone 3 release for the PS3, with Killzone Shadow Fall launching day one with the PS4 back in 2013. However, Guerrilla Games has since moved on to the Horizon franchise, so a return to Killzone has always remained doubtful.
