The extremely prolific Keanu Reeves will be voicing Shadow the Hedgehog in the coming Sonic the Hedgehog 3 movie, which is set to arrive this coming December 20, 2024.
Yes that’s right, the very same Ted, Jack Traven, Neo, and John Wick, will be lending his voice and talents to the role of Shadow.
The news was first broken by The Hollywood Reporter, who cites “multiple sources” in the wake of CinemaCon and Paramount’s presentation at the convention.
When SEGA began making the Sonic films, there wasn’t a lot of hope around them. But then the first film came out and began a new era in video-game to film adaptations, and while we’ve seen better movies and shows since, there’s an argument to be made that Sonic kicked things off.
The second film elevated on the first one, in part due to the casting of Idris Elba as the iconic Knuckles, and now adding Reeves to the list definitely sets expectations even further for the third film.
