Is Total War: Warhammer coming to PS4? Folk have been asking about this for a few years now, although for one reason or another, a Total War: Warhammer PS4 release has remained elusive. Still, is there a chance the popular PC fantasy real-time strategy title could make the jump? Let’s have a look.
Total War: Warhammer PS4
Total War: Warhammer is very much tailored for PC user, being that it’s a strategy game where mouse and keyboard support is paramount for an authentic gameplay experience. It’s also worth pointing out that no Total War game has ever graced a home console, which doesn’t bode well for this 2016 entry.
Developer Creative Assembly and publisher SEGA have to date not confirmed any plans for a Total War: Warhammer PS4 release (or Xbox One, for that matter), and that doesn’t look set to change anytime soon.
Back in 2015, prior to the game’s PC debut, Creative Assembly issued the following statement:
Total War: WARHAMMER will be available on PC, Mac and Linux via Steam OS. There are no plans for a console version at this time.
This stance hasn’t changed, but we’ll be sure to keep you updated on the off-chance it may end up happening.
What Is Total War: Warhammer?
Released on May 24, 2016, Total War: Warhammer takes the form of a turn-based strategy title that combines the gameplay of the Total War franchise with that of Games Workshop’s Warhammer IP. As such, it’s the first entry in the series not to be set in a historical setting, instead taking place in a fantasy realm.
Much like previous games, players must manage cities and armies via both turn-based and real-time tactics gameplay, with Dwarfs, Human, Greenskins, and Vampire Counts available to play as, each possessing their own set of unique abilities and units.
Total War: Warhammer was an immediate success, selling over half a million copies during its first few weeks on sale.
