How To Open Dead By Daylight Hatch

dead by daylight update 2.1.0 patch notes

Still finding ways to escape trial in Dead by Daylight? One of the ways to survive and run away is to use the Hatch. The Dead By Daylight Hatch is also known as the Black Lock. As the last one survivor, use our Dead By Daylight Hatch complete guide to escape the horror the Killer brings.

Where to find Dead By Daylight Hatch?

The Hatch appears randomly in specific areas of the Map. It spawns at the beginning of the trial. However, it will remain invisible to Survivors and Killer until there is only one Survivor remains. That is when all other Survivors have escaped, dead, sacrificed or disconnected already.

In addition, it also requires specific amount of fully repaired Generators. The Hatch will be visible when fully repaired Generators exceed the number of Survivors by one as shown below:

  • 4 Survivors: 5 fully repaired Generators / Exit Gates are powered
  • 3 Survivors: 4 fully repaired Generators / 1 Generator left
  • 2 Survivors: 3 fully repaired Generators / 2 Generators left
  • 1 Survivor: 2 fully repaired Generators / 3 Generators left

You can track the Hatch when you add a Black Silk Cord in a Rainbow Map or regular Map. Listen carefully as you will hear a certain sound each time the Hatch opens.

How To Open Dead By Daylight Hatch?

To open the Hatch, first, you need to wait for the Hatch to spawn. The Hatch remains open for 30 seconds once it became visible. The remaining Survivor needs a Key to open the Hatch to escape. Ultimately, you need to add Milky Glass to the Key or else the Hatch would just consume it. You can also unlock the “Where Did They Go?!?” achievement using the Key.

If in case there are still other Survivors, you need the Skeleton Key and Dull Key to open the Hatch. It stays open for 30 seconds and any Survivor can jump in to escape. All four Survivors can jump in and escape at the same time.

We hope our Dead By Daylight Hatch helped you escape the trial!
