Hajime Tabata Working On Two New Games, Will Be An Evolution Of Final Fantasy Type-0 And Final Fantasy XV

Speaking during an interview with Famitsu magazine, former Square Enix developer Hajime Tabata has revealed that he’s working on two games in collaboration with a major company, and what’s more, they’re set to be an evolution of Final Fantasy Type-0 and Final Fantasy XV.

Tabata-san’s JP Games released its debut project in the shape of The Pegasus Dream Tour, which the Paralympics’ official game companion.

Now that’s done and dusted, the Final Fantasy XV director is planning work on his next couple of titles, the first being an evolution of Type-0. Described as an “experimental and sharp game,” the project is described as a “high-speed RPG” and seemingly includes multiplayer.

The second game, an evolution of FFXV, takes the form of an open-world Nomadic RPG and Tabata has labelled it an AAA project.

Square Enix announced in November 2018 that Tabata had resigned from the company and Luminous Productions, resulting in three of four Final Fantasy XV expansion being cancelled.
