Venom has been added as the latest playable character for Guilty Gear Strive, with the latest patch for the game now live that includes extra music tracks, an textra avatar, and character-specific changes. Venom is available to purchase as standalone DLC or comes as part of the Guilty Gear Strive Season Pass 4. Read the full Guilty Gear Strive update 1.44 patch notes below.
Guilty Gear Strive was released for PS5, PS4, and PC in June 2021, and was later released for Xbox Series X/S and Nintendo Switch in March 2023 and January 2025, respectively. Developer Arc System Works positioned the game as a “complete reconstruction of the franchise,” overhauling many key features and mechanics while maintaining the core essence of the series.

General/Game Modes
- New Character: Added Venom as a playable character.
- Available after purchasing GGST Season Pass 4 or the Venom DLC.
- New Music Tracks:
- Added Venom’s theme, A Tenth of Myself.
- Added legacy tracks to Gallery Mode:

- Adjusted the display area to improve camera zoom functionality when certain elements are hidden.
Issue Fixes
- Resolved a Happy Chaos issue where Break-In aim sight remained on-screen during Team of 3 battles.
- Fixed button guide display inconsistencies when Attack Button Display Format was set to Platform Based.
- Corrected Command List video discrepancies between tutorial clips and in-game behavior.
- Addressed other minor issues for improved stability.
Battle-Related Fixes (Ver.4.02 → Ver.4.03)
All changes are issue fixes.
- Universal Mechanics:
- Fixed a bug where special moves could activate unintentionally after Roman Cancel with a 3-button input.
- Character-Specific Fixes:
- Chipp: Fixed unintended position shifts during Tightrope Run while tethered to Baiken.
- Faust: Resolved an issue where Hole in One! caused the Hammer to lose its hitbox after a second bound.
- Happy Chaos: Fixed repeated block sound effects under certain conditions.
- Faust/Goldlewis/Johnny/Dizzy: Addressed Ice Field issues, including:
- Faust’s Bone-crushing Excitement and Johnny’s That’s My Name cinematic failures.
- Goldlewis’s Down With The System hit consistency.
